Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company operating as DePuy Synthes. Position Overview
The External Manufacturing Supply Integration Manager is responsible for managing multiple global External Manufacturers (EMs) for DePuy Synthes (DPS) and is directly accountable for the seamless integration of will work cross-functionally to implement supplier-facing initiatives that ensure business continuity quality compliance and supplier OTIF. This role is responsible to complete and monitor both tactical and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of Plan New Product Introduction and Technical Operations. Each Manager is expected to lead the resolution of both short-term and structural issues with the supplier and DPS support functions for finished goods packaging and addition will lead coach and develop a small team of professional level associates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the seamless integration of EM supply with vendors of moderate size & complexity
Ensure EM capability including risk profile meets the short and long-term business customer and patient requirements of DPS
As representative of DPS ensure the EM has the necessary information to deliver quality products consistently and on-time. This includes the implementation and closure of supplier change orders (SCR) and other required documentation
Monitor and develop EM key performance indicators (KPIs) such as leadtime on-time delivery backorder S&OP attainment SCR closure and risk composite score
Support the development and implementation of proactive risk mitigation activities with both the EM and their extended supply chain partners
Represent EM to internal stakeholders as part of the STEM (short-term event management) and Supply Chain Launch Readiness processes to prioritize & lead the resolution of supply issues
Provides input into the DPS EM/ExOpsSupply S&OP process
Coordinate the short medium and long-term synchronization of supply and demand for their group of suppliers. This may necessitate implementation of S&OP meetings between DPS and the EM
Ensure organizationally aligned incentives between DPS and the EM and call out opportunities for enhancement
Support/Coordinate the deployment of supplier development/Operations Excellence engagements & resources across the supplier that improve right first time lead time machine down time backorder & OTD.
Facilitate cross-functional decision making as it pertains to trade-offs within the EM network
Oversight and communication of an attainable supply plan for EM products based on DPS net requirements
Collaborates in the following areas: inventory service and cost optimization (MOQs) lead time reduction optimization of order quantities capacity analysis scenario planning supplier performance measurement annual business planning cycle
Manage a team of approximately1-3professionalswhoare responsibleforsupplier management including supplierdata preparation&analytical support. Ensure strong results through effective performance management development planning and ongoing engagement.
Help to resolve discrepancies and disputes from PO to Invoice
Coach guide and support the team as it relates tosupplier managementcritical decision making and communications
Experience and Education
BA/BS degree in a Business-related field of study Supply Chain Logistics Sciences or Engineering field is required
8-10 years (6-8 years with MBA or equivalent experience) of direct experience within Supplier Relationship Management Planning or Manufacturing Operations preferably within the medical device industry is required
Required knowledge skills abilities certification/licenses
Proven ability to work cross-functionally is required
Demonstrated track record of coaching mentoring and developing direct reports is required
Strong written and oral communication influencing and negotiation skills are required
A background in Operational Excellence (Lean / Six-Sigma) is preferred
Firm understanding of E2E supply chain with an emphasis on Planning and constraint theory is preferred
A positive customer-focused and collaborative approach to problem solving is required
The ability to develop data and leverage metrics and analytics to generate insights for continuous improvement is required
The ability to work independently and with urgency in a globally matrixed environment
