Description

As a Product Designer for the Seller Experience space youll be a part of eBays core design team. This role will envision and craft outstanding user experiences for the worlds largest online marketplace with over 135 million shoppers and 25 million sellers. Using design creativity and user-centered design principles you will work with cross-functional teams that are reinventing the social mobile local commerce landscape on a grand scale to and address exciting new business opportunities. Your responsibility in this role is to craft elegant and simple interfaces that solve complex interaction problems. Strong interaction design skills underpinned by strong visual design and content design skills are required for this role. An understanding of how to operate as a designer in a highly cross-functional environment is critical for this role.

About the team and the role:

As a Senior Product Designer on the Local Design team within Seller Experience youll help evolve a critical part of how buyers and sellers connect on eBayenabling local in-person commerce that strengthens trust and community. Local buying and selling is a meaningful extension of the eBay marketplace and this team plays a key role in shaping how buyers discover nearby inventory and how sellers connect with buyers to complete transactions in person.

Youll join a highly collaborative cross-functional team focused on improving core parts of the local experience across platforms. The team is driving an ambitious multi-year roadmap and is deeply invested in research-led this role youll contribute to ongoing discovery and experimentation efforts while taking ownership of key areas of the experience helping translate insights into thoughtful scalable solutions.

This is an opportunity for a senior designer to influence direction elevate design quality and help define the future of local commerce on eBay.

What you will accomplish:

• Create outstanding user-centered designs incorporating business requirements product findings and customer feedback

• Design end-to-end experiences for how key information such as pricing appears across the buyer and seller experience

• Develop conceptual diagrams wireframes visual mockups and prototypes

• Collaborate with partner teams to co-create scalable experiences that balance user needs with business objectives

• Understand both seller and buyer experiences to create holistic end-to-end solutions

• Leverage eBays existing design system into your solutions while also being able to thoughtfully contribute new additions to it

• Communicate design work and drive future direction with peers researchers design leaders product partners and executives through strong verbal written and visual presentation skills

• Regularly present to leadership and key XFN stakeholders to collect feedback and iterate to strengthen the work

What you will bring:

• 6-8 years of experience in Product Design

• Bachelors degree in Interaction Design/HCI or equivalent experience

• Deep understanding of the user-centered design process

• Strong storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives that are tailored to different audiences

• Experience partnering with Content Design to effectively leverage copy to help craft a compelling experience for users

• Experience in Design Research including competitive analysis qualitative interviews leveraging quantitative metrics to drive decisions and crafting insights from observation

• Deep understanding of working with design systems as well as experience on how to thoughtfully improve upon them

• Specialist in prototyping and designing in Figma for multiple devices including mobile tablet and desktop

• Experience working with buyer/seller marketplaces

• Leadership self-starter with proactive stance toward achieving success on projects

• Strong interaction design skills and visual design skills as well as a strong grasp of English language in order to create and share simple user flows

• Strong social skills build effective working relationships with other design teams and within other domains such as Product Engineering Marketing

• Facilitation - Plan coordinate and lead workshops and design sprints with cross functional partners and teams to gain alignment on new initiatives and product strategy

• A portfolio that showcases relevant design projects and includes your process design explorations and final work.

Preferred qualifications

Experience designing for eCommerce platforms and or SAAS applications
