Role Overview
An opportunity within our Crop Protection Commercial Function has become available for an energetic and dynamic individual with a passion for sustainable agriculture and improved food security. This exciting opportunity provides a platform to provide on-farm technical expertise to our customers in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. The incumbent will do so by:
- Driving a farmer-centric approach by providing technical expertise and support to our channel partners to optimize crop productivity and farm profitability.
- Developing strong relationships with farmers and key stakeholders to deliver tailored agronomic solutions that address their specific challenges.
Key Accountabilities
- Support farmers with technical skills to support in purchasing decisions that is optimized for the specific needs of the farmer Explore and develop biopotential opportunities aligned with iPlan and Crop Atlas data to drive market growth.
- Coordinate with Key Account Managers and Campaign Managers to implement agreed marketing campaigns and support the Sales Key Account Plan
- Manage a portfolio of key growers and key influencers (study groups large growers industry associations) to facilitate demand generation and market share growth.
- Provide market intelligence value chain information and competitive product knowledge to the Syngenta team.
- Support Campaign Leads in converting trial data into sales and marketing messaging.
- Maintain effective communication and networking across the multi-functional business to align regional campaign initiatives.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive area grower map including farm details crop information and grower demographics.
- Manage a portfolio of Channel partners key growers and key influencers (study groups large growers industry associations) to facilitate demand generation and market share growth.
- Ensure all operations comply with legal requirements company policies and Syngenta Health Safety & Environmental guidelines.
Qualifications :
Knowledge Experience & Skills
Essential Requirements
- Bachelors degree in agronomy horticulture agriculture or equivalent
- Agri-economics and farm practice knowledge
- Commercial understanding of South African agriculture
- Technical knowledge of crop protection products
- Strong presentation and communication skills across all business levels
- Basic Croplife Course qualification advantageous
Experience Required
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining successful business relationships
- Working knowledge of the crop growing cycle and agricultural operations
- Demonstrated success in team environments and cross-functional collaboration
- Account management or relationship management experience with commercial farming operations
Key Skills
- Developing productive working relationships across the agricultural value chain
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Effective collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams to implement campaigns
- SalesForce proficiency and business planning capability

Mobility: Flexible and willingness to travel across the Western Cape Eastern Cape and nationwide as necessary.
