Job Description:

Our client is seeking a GCC qualified Plant Engineer with experience in mineral sands plant maintenance to join their team on site in the Western Cape South Africa.

This role is responsible for managing the asset care management system in accordance with applicable engineering standards legislative requirements and client specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead work allocation and operational–engineering integration to meet client needs service targets and maximise plant availability
• Ensure full compliance with legal safety and engineering standards while providing technical support to minimise risk
• Develop implement and optimise maintenance strategies through planning performance analysis and continuous improvement
• Plan and coordinate major shutdowns resources and external partnerships to support operational efficiency
• Oversee project delivery end-to-end including technical documentation procurement design review construction and commissioning
• Manage budgets and financial planning to ensure cost control and alignment with organisational objectives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate technologies and ensure quality standards are met
• Set performance targets and lead team development fostering a high-performing collaborative culture

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Mines and Works.
• 5 years’ experience as an appointed Engineer in phosphate or similar processing plants.
• Professional registration advantageous.
• Well-versed in legal compliance.
• Technical risk management experience.
• Asset and project management experience.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control.
• Computer literate on MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
