A well-established specialty referral and emergency veterinary hospital in Jacksonville is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its collaborative medical team.
This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine and is passionate about providing immediate life-saving care for critically ill and injured patients. Emergency clinicians work closely with specialists and a highly trained technical team to deliver comprehensive care in a supportive team-oriented environment.
The Role
Emergency veterinarians in this position will:

Provide care for patients presenting with urgent or life-threatening conditions

Triage and assess emergency cases to determine appropriate treatment plans

Diagnose and manage complex medical conditions in emergency settings

Oversee technicians carrying out treatment plans and patient monitoring

Perform emergency procedures and surgeries when required

Manage hospitalized and critical care patients

Communicate closely with referring veterinarians and pet owners

Experience & Skills Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree

Eligible for or currently holding a Florida veterinary license in good standing prior to start date

DEA license or eligibility to obtain one

Experience in emergency medicine strongly preferred including small animal rotating or emergency internships
