Job Summary
A Weapon System Test Engineer is needed to support the testing and evaluation of tactical weapon system software in multiple operational configurations. The role involves working with a technical team to conduct laboratory-based testing analyze system performance document results and verify system requirements. Responsibilities include troubleshooting lab equipment and simulators supporting software verification activities and preparing technical documentation and reports related to testing operations.
Travel:
Travel opportunities may be available but are not required.
Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Secret clearance is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Requirements
- Prior U.S. Navy fleet experience as an E-4 or above Fire Controlman (FC) or Fire Control Technician (FT)
- Possession of Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) Operation and Maintenance Technician NEC (V20A) or equivalent qualification
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing of tactical weapon systems across various configurations and software builds in a laboratory environment
- Document testing activities and observations in laboratory logs
- Modify and troubleshoot lab hardware equipment simulators and network configurations
- Perform data analysis of test results and develop data extraction and reduction methods for test procedures
- Document system issues by creating change requests (CR) and problem reports (PR)
- Verify software fixes and updates for reported issues
- Develop and update test procedures to validate system functionality and requirements
- Conduct peer reviews of test procedures
- Develop and maintain Test Verification Matrices (TVM)
- Prepare test plans and technical reports
- Provide technical briefings and testing summaries including presenting analysis results during reviews
- Communicate testing activities issues and progress with project management
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Capabilities Based Test and Evaluation (CBT&E)
- Experience using automated testing tools and methodologies
- Experience using Jira to track issues change requests and tasks
- Ability to create and manage test and laboratory schedules including coordinating resources and personnel
Education
A Bachelors degree in a STEM field is preferred but not required.
