The Biodiversity & Heritage Regulator team is seeking a Triage Officer to play a critical role in identifying and assessing potential breaches of environmental legislation reported through the Environment Line.
In this role youll review and assess reports using a range of tools and information sources including GIS imagery and databases to determine risks and priorities. Youll prepare clear triage reports apply risk assessment frameworks and refer matters to the appropriate teams to support timely and effective regulatory action.
Working closely with internal stakeholders youll ensure decisions are accurate consistent and evidence-based while escalating complex or high-risk matters when required. Your insights will also help improve triage processes tools and workflows strengthening how we respond to environmental concerns across NSW.
About You
Youre a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong interest in environmental compliance and regulation. You enjoy working with complex information assessing risk and making well-reasoned decisions that support fair and effective regulatory outcomes.
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively you can manage your own workload within broader program priorities while exercising sound judgement about when to escalate complex or high-risk matters. Your ability to analyse information apply structured assessment frameworks and document clear findings enables informed decision-making.
