Middle School: Grades 5th - 8th
Reports to:Building Principal
Compenstation:$41333 yearly
Pre-Kindergarten Grade 8 Job Description:
Definition: Under administrative supervision the classroom teacher for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 or a combination thereof establishes and maintains a program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each students individual need and ability while instructing and engaging all students in learning activities designed to promote social emotional and intellectual growth.
To perform the job of elementary teacher an individual must meet the qualifications of knowledge ability and skill as prescribed and perform each duty and responsibility of the position with proficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Credentials: Valid IL teaching license with proper endorsements
-Education: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree including coursework to meet credential requirements
-Experience: Student Teaching Internship or Previous Employment in Teaching Position
-Occasionally required to sit climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
-Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Demonstrate qualification and competency with area of assigned instruction.
-Effectively communicate content knowledge and applications in area of assigned instruction.
-Design/implement instruction in compliance with prescribed district curriculum and objectives.
-Utilize instructional tools and apply instructional strategy of current best practice.
-Communicate with parents positively professionally and regularly including parent teacher
conferencing.
-Engage students in whole group instruction small group instruction and individual instruction.
-Establish/maintain standards of student conduct and control required to achieve full participation in all activities.
-Create/maintain an organized uncluttered workspace with display emphasis on function and content.
-Engage supervisor cooperatively.
-Engage/interacts with colleagues respectfully.
-Maintain/provide records including but not limited to the evaluation of student performance with accuracy and according the timeline requested.
-Engage in professional development.
-Participate in school-wide supervision of students during out of classroom activity.
-Participate in staff meetings district/school committees.
-Participate in student activities by attending volunteering sponsoring or coaching.
-Other duties as assigned
