Position Summary:

The Department of Biology in the Petree College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma City University isseekingforone yearnon-tenuretrackVisitingBiologyProfessor whose innovative and creative instruction will complement and enhance the departments pre-health profession related programs.

Whileareaof specialization is open preference will be given to candidates withexpertiseinHuman Anatomy Human PhysiologyMicrobiology Immunologyand/or Genetics who can complement the pre-health profession related curriculum.

The search committee is especially interested in candidates who through their teaching scholarship and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The Department of Biology is interested in candidates who understand the barriers facingdifferent groupsof students and are passionate about helping all students meet their academic and career goals.

Review of applications will beginimmediatelyand continue until the position is filled with a start date of August will be expected to present an engaging teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.

Qualifications

A terminal degree in a field closely related to the discipline andpreviouscollege teaching experience is rank and length of tenure track will becommensuratewith experience.

Duties

Duties of thisposition includesteaching 24credit hours annually active participation in departmental college and university service active participation in the departments assessment program and participation in student recruiting and retention efforts for the college and the university.
