NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time non-tenured renewable faculty position in General Engineering at the level of Industry Assistant Professor with a start date of August 17 2026. This appointment will be for three academic years.
The instructors primary responsibility will be teaching sections of EG-UY 1004 Introduction to Engineering and Design. A cornerstone design course EG-UY 1004 introduces students to the engineering design process through the completion of an open-ended semester-long design project. This course is a 4-credit course that consists of weekly lectures labs and recitation components and is team-taught by a group of faculty and undergraduate peer mentors. The instructors responsibilities are fulfilled by:
Mentoring teams of 3-4 students through completion of their semester-long design project.
Supporting lab exercises that introduce students to engineering tools and skills such as computer aided design circuitry coding and manufacturing techniques.
Evaluating students on their technical communication skills
Delivering short lectures introducing students to various engineering disciplines and skills.
A typical teaching load is 5 sections per semester.
