About the Food Technology Department
The Design & Technology department is a vibrant and well-resourced faculty with modern food preparation rooms and excellent facilities. Food Technology is a popular subject within the school with strong uptake at GCSE. The department encourages students to develop creativity practical cooking skills and an understanding of nutrition and food science.

As a Food Technology Teacher you will join a collaborative team committed to delivering engaging lessons and developing students confidence and independence in practical learning environments.

About the Role

As a Food Technology Teacher your responsibilities will include:

• Teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 with potential opportunities at KS5 depending on experience

• Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory lessons

• Supporting students in developing cooking skills nutritional knowledge and food safety awareness

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback

• Contributing to curriculum development and departmental resources

• Maintaining a safe and well-organised food preparation environment

• Supporting extracurricular activities and food-related enrichment opportunities

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Design & Technology department

Experience and Qualifications

• A Food Technology Hospitality or related Degree

• QTS or PGCE

• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (including placements for ECTs)

• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning

Salary
The salary for this Food Technology Teacher position will be paid to scale MPS/UPS depending on experience.
