About the Role
As IT Technician you will support the day-to-day operation of the schools IT systems and assist staff and students with technical issues. You will work closely with the IT Manager and wider administrative team to ensure the schools technology infrastructure runs smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing first-line technical support to staff and pupils
Installing configuring and maintaining hardware such as computers laptops printers and interactive displays
Supporting classroom technology used for teaching and learning
Maintaining the school network user accounts and system permissions
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues efficiently
Assisting with system updates backups and security procedures
Supporting the setup of IT equipment for lessons meetings and school events
Keeping accurate records of technical issues and resolutions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have previous IT support or technical experience ideally in an educational environment
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Have knowledge of Windows operating systems networking basics and common educational software
Be organised reliable and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
Communicate clearly and effectively with staff and pupils of varying technical abilities
Relevant IT qualifications or certifications would be beneficial but are not essential if supported by practical experience.
