Job Summary

Are you a passionate and creative English Teacher looking to inspire students in a high-achieving environment A thriving Outstanding secondary school in Norwich is seeking a motivated and dynamic teacher to join their English department. This is a full-time permanent position suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

About the Role
As an English Teacher you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and potentially KS5 helping students build strong reading writing and critical thinking skills. You will be expected to inspire pupils to engage with literature and language creatively while preparing them for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 KS4 and KS5 (where applicable)

  • Assessing pupil progress and providing timely constructive feedback

  • Creating a positive classroom environment that fosters confidence curiosity and resilience

  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities through differentiated learning strategies

  • Contributing to departmental planning curriculum development and resource creation

  • Encouraging participation in extracurricular activities such as school magazines competitions and theatre productions

  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Be able to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Show enthusiasm for fostering a love of literature and language

  • Be committed to pupils progress wellbeing and personal development

ECTs are welcomed with strong mentoring and support programmes in place.
