Job Summary

Job Title: Lead Civil Engineer

Location: Lagos Nigeria

Job Type: Full time

Department: Engineering / Technical Department
Reports To: Executive Director (Technical)

Qualification: Diploma or University degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. And in a relevant field is advantageous.

Experinece: Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering (structural) roles.

Job Objective:

Experience:To ensure that all projects and company operations meet established engineering standards and specified requirements by overseeing technical quality compliance and performance in civil engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance and advice to management on project execution and tender processes.
Monitor test and control the quality of construction materials and products.
Analyze technical performance and prepare reports for management review.
Supervise quality management and operations at all C&D Batching Plants ensuring compliance with concrete standards.
Oversee concrete production delivery of materials (sand granite) and site operations.
Conduct concrete cubic and slump tests to verify quality before site delivery.
Supervise reinforcement testing at the in-house steel depot.
Coordinate with project and site managers regarding concrete steel reinforcement and procurement of construction materials.
Prepare technical specifications and working drawings for projects.
Design prepare and detail shop drawings as required.
Serve as a technical liaison between management and project consultants.
Plan organize and execute engineering or technical experiments to support project requirements.
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as:
- Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA)
- Lagos State Ministry of Environment
- Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority
- Relevant Local Government Authorities
Perform additional technical duties as requested by management.
Hands-on experience in building plan approvals and liaising with Lagos regulatory authorities.
Extensive experience in concrete structures supervision and quality testing of building materials in laboratories.

Professional Qualifications:

Registration with COREN is mandatory with a valid annual practice license.
Membership in professional bodies such as MNSE or MNISTRUCT.E is an advantage.
