Tekberry is seeking a Mechanical Drafting / CAD Technician II to support drafting and documentation activities for our client a global leader in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies.
This role will support a global drafting team responsible for maintaining engineering drawing packages for custom manufacturing equipment used in optical fiber and cable production facilities worldwide. The position focuses on drafting execution and documentation updates rather than new product design.
The technician will create and update 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD while ensuring compliance with company drafting standards and engineering documentation procedures.

Responsibilities
Drafting & Drawing Updates
Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Correct redlined drawings and models provided by engineering and drafting leads
Generate 2D drawings from existing 3D models and assemblies
Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and documentation practices
Engineering Documentation Support
Convert legacy AutoCAD or hand-drawn drawings into modern 3D models and associative drawings
Collect and incorporate engineering data into drawing packages
Prepare engineering documentation prior to release into Autodesk Vault
Production & Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with engineering and development teams to maintain drawing accuracy
Collect measurements and production data from the manufacturing floor when required
Support drawing revisions and documentation updates for global manufacturing equipment
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional mechanical drafting experience
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
Experience working with Autodesk Vault or similar document management system
Knowledge of ASME / ANSI drafting standards
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
General Windows-based computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology Drafting/CAD or similar technical field
Drafting certificate or CAD certification
Experience working with sheet metal weldment assembly and detail drawings
Experience converting legacy drawings to modern CAD models
Manufacturing or industrial equipment drafting experience
Work Environment
Hybrid work schedule available (3 4 days remote possible depending on workload)
Monday Friday schedule with a target of 45 hours per week
Occasional overtime may be required to support project timelines
May involve occasional visits to the production floor for measurement verification
