The Research Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) is a full-time faculty position focused primarily on research and scholarly productivity. The role supports the College of Nursings mission and strategic priorities through externally funded research publications and collaborative scholarship. This position does not carry a formal teaching assignment. Research faculty are expected to actively seek and secure extramural funding. Faculty are expected to support their salary through external funding within three years of appointment.



Responsibilities

The faculty candidate will engage primarily in research-focused activities including writing and submitting grant proposals conducting data analyses and preparing and submitting scholarly manuscripts. Also is expected to develop and maintain an active externally funded program of research aligned with college priorities and to contribute to the advancement of nursing science and health-related scholarship. Continued employment and salary support are dependent on the faculty members ability to secure and sustain extramural funding.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching academic research and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated and documented expertise in research dissemination through publications and presentations. - Demonstrated record of participation in funded research as a key personnel member (e.g. principal investigator co-investigator or postdoctoral fellow). - Demonstrated potential to secure extramural research funding.

Preferred Qualifications:

A well-established record of academic productivity including a significant research portfolio and grant funding. - Has obtained extramural grant funding. - Research focus aligned with the College of Nursings research mission.
