JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Financial Associate 3 performs routine accounting activities for grants contracts and state supported activities including financial reporting budget preparation and maintenance according to UT policies and procedures. This position performs complex accounting financial payroll and/or budgeting special projects as directed by the Grants Administrator or Assistant Director for the Basic Science Department.
ResponsibilitiesProvides accounting support to faculty and administration concerning grants contracts and state funds to ensure all expenditures are appropriate and within defined budgets according to UT policies and procedures.
Reviews invoices and assigns an account code by expense type.
Ensures all appropriate paperwork is attached (order form packing slip invoice etc...).
Scans documents and enters vendor invoice data into DASH for approval. Initiate transfer vouchers in DASH when necessary.
Generates/reconciles monthly DASH ledgers & financial accounting analyses including accounting budget projections for assigned accounts.
Reviews charges to the ledgers for department accounts.
Compiles and prepares documents to support procurement card charges for AMP and PPG accounts.
Reviews verifies and inputs other departmental purchasing cards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION:Associates Degree in Accounting Business or a related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience; ORBachelors Degree in lieu of experience;OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience to equal four (4) years.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Oracle/DASH accounting-related entries.
Skill in preparing Excel spreadsheets.
Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of UT policies and procedures is necessary.
