Qualifications for Position: Friendly willing to learn punctual Time management: Able to get necessary assigned tasks done on time as the entire class depends on work studies and ability to perform their job. Basic knowledge of art studio classes. (Enrollment in 2-D Design Painting or Mixed Media class is helpful.) Willing to get dirty at times Art Major preferred Able to handle student artwork with care Able to keep the studio organized and clean. Able to lift 25 lbs Mechanical inclination is helpful. Skills with hand tools or power tools are helpful.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep studio organized Help set up and clean up instructor demonstrations Keep abreast of the needs of the studio and inform the instructor Assist other work study in the department with special tasks such as hanging shows or getting ready for specific events or putting together furniture
Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
- Career & Self-Development including organizing and prioritizing time.
- Communication in the form of email and oral exchange.
- Critical Thinking in the form of creating solutions and being proactive with tasks.
- Global Literacy displayed by researching artists and artworks from diverse cultures.
- Leadership through service and working with other department members.
- Professionalism by being punctual and dependable with the tasks at hand.
- Teamwork including working outside of the 2D studio with other art student workers.
- Technology use of the Google suite and PowerPoint.
