Job Summary

Salary Range:

  • Base Salary: From $83993.00 (Grade 13 Step 1) per annum
  • Plus: 12% superannuation
  • Allowance: Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance - $1013.48 per annum
  • Total Package: $95208.00 per annum

The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

The Opportunity

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Building Maintenance Officer (Electrician) to join our team.

In this role you will ensure the safe efficient and reliable operation of Councils electrical systems across buildings and open-space assets. You will carry out electrical installations maintenance and repairs diagnose faults and ensure all work complies with Australian standards and WHS requirements.

This role also involves planning and coordinating maintenance works managing materials and equipment and maintaining accurate records. Its a great opportunity to contribute to the functionality and safety of Council facilities while working in a collaborative team environment supporting the community.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified and Licensed Electrician Trade Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • NSW Fair Trading Contractor Licence (Electrician).
  • Relevant experience as an Electrician.
  • General Safety (White Card) Induction Certificate.
  • NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated positive approach to provision of customer service.
  • Ability to use judgement and problem-solving skills to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to complete work and deliver according to project schedules and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interest in this field and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good communication skills including both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to see colour to discern colour-coded systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a self-directed work environment and ability to take initiative to ensure gainful and productive work for each working day.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Local Government.
  • Licensed / trained to operate or work in confined spaces work at heights scissor lift forklift test and tag telescopic handlers explosive power tolls or 5m boom lift.
  • Able to perform basic data cable installation diagnostics and maintenance.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience with fire panels.
