- This is not an hourly position. The Student Employee will be paid at the end of the semester when the supervisor issues payment.
- This position is paid via a stipend of $250
- If all requirements are met:
- Attend all meetings as required with SGA advisor.
- No meetings should be missed by executive board members unless excused by SGA advisor President or Chief of Staff within 24 hours in advance.
- Executive Board Members must attend all events unless excused by SGA Advisor President or Chief of Staff at least 24 hours in advance.
- There must always be at least two Executive Board members at all SGA Events
Evaluation Period:Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose:
The Vice President of Student Life promotes a vibrant engaging and supportive campus environment. This position advocates for student organizations campus programming and co-curricular involvement that enrich the student experience. The VP works to strengthen campus traditions student engagement and overall community well-being.
The SGA Vice President of Student Experience is responsible for:
- Uphold and enforce the provisions of the Constitution
- Assist in making immediate necessary decisions concerning the Student Government
- Assist in resolving any disputes over the interpretation of the Constitution with advice from the SGA Advisor
- Attend all meetings of the Student Government Association
- Assist in approving stipends for the elected SGA members
- Have the right to call meetings to order between the Executive Board and Committee chairs as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee student organization relations and funding initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate campus-wide events and traditions.
- Advocate for student wellness engagement and extracurricular involvement.
- Collaborate with campus offices to improve residential and campus life.
- Promote a vibrant and inclusive campus community.
- Serve as an advocate for commuter students by gathering feedback addressing barriers to engagement (e.g. scheduling parking space access) and ensuring campus events and initiatives are accessible and inclusive of commuter needs.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student currently enrolled at Mount St. Joseph University
- Must maintain and uphold a 2.5 GPA semesterly
- Must be in good standing with Mount St. Joseph University
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and meet deadlines
- Well organized punctual and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels within the University
