Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Technical Specialist - Distribution to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations East team in ON-Brampton.
TheSupply Chain Operations Eastteam is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services byproviding technical expertise to South Central Ontario Supply Chain and to hospital customers in the management and use of blood and blood this role you are responsible for developing key relationships with external hospital representatives and members of the Healthcare Community.
Following Canadian Blood Services Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices you will receive and store blood and fractionation products and maintain stock of distribution supplies.
Drawing on your knowledge and training of laboratory safety practices you will ensure the safety of blood products through an ongoing monitoring of product and product storage equipment (temperature humidity variations etc.) as well as performing recalls and removing outdated products.
With your communication skills you will issue blood and related products to our customers such as Provincial Hospitals and other blood centers and communicate with hospital teams about orders placed as required.
Utilizing your organization and time management skills you will perform batching and packing of ordersby priority and time of delivery to ensure compliance within established parameters for time and temperature limits during transit.
Shifts/hours must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs; length of shifts varies according to the event which takes place at Canadian Blood Services. Shifts include days evenings nights weekends and statutory holidays.
Physical requirements manual dexterity ability to stoop kneel crouch lift and carry weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.)
This position must meet the Trustworthiness and Reliability Verification requirements of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and is subject to criminal records and employment verification checks.
