Job Summary:
Subject matter expert responsible for the overall management of the company supply chain compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and all other local national and international import and export regulatory requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for export and re-export activities in the region; and work with others in the Global Trade Compliance Team around the globe to provide expert level guidance and interpretation of regional country laws andregulations.
- Develop together with other Regional Directors implement and review the Companys world-wide Global Trade Compliance Program Manual policies and procedures with emphasis on regional applicability to ensure a strong global tradecompliance management system.
- Oversee and direct the performance of compliance and risk audits at all Companys locations in the region develop corrective action plans and ensure completion of corrective actions.
- Assess compliance process gaps identify and recommend appropriate tools processes and personnel needs in the region to assure trade compliance.
- Build and maintain relations with government agencies in the region and provide input whenever possible in favor of the Companys businesses including arranging and leading meetings as required with government officials from licensingagencies Customs agencies etc.
- Ensure all Companys registrations with applicable agencies in the region are kept current.
- Regarded as an expert in export/import trade laws and regulations in the region.
- Stay informed of laws and regulations changes relating to trade compliance and the impact to the Companys businesses as well as obtaining required resources and tools to enable and sustain a world-wide compliance program.
- Implement global trade compliance training programs both on-line and classroom style for all business functions within the region.
- Continuously seek to improve the Companys global trade compliance practices to share best practices and to attain core competence.
- Perform final review and approval of all voluntary/prior disclosure documentation including corrective actions taken prior to submission to governmental agencies in the region.
- Develop strategies design and implement trade compliance IT tools for use in the region.
- Design and maintain regional database of all government export/import approvals in region and design and implement assessment tool for authorization maintenance and compliance.
- Manage a Tactical Advisory Committee of cross functional representatives to support deployment of improved processes and procedures.

Work Experience:
- Typically 10 years including 5 years of management experience
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Responsible for full compliance of operational transactions asset management record keeping etc. related to IMMEX/VAT Power of Attorney specific to logistics needs
- Identify and pursue registrations/certifications that enable cycle time reductions and bolster compliance posture
- Monitors IMMEX/VAT landscape enabling anticipation of business impact
- Regularly scheduled engagements with consultants and INDEX to ensure clarity of changes
- Documents policy and updates procedures to align with regulation requirements
- Communicates expectations and manages sign-off of awareness by key executives and stakeholders
- Develops strategy for existing and new customer engagements with intent of modifying business models to regulation requirements
- Develops audit plan through collaboration with appropriate internal/external groups (Global audit GTC SAT Avnet operations teams etc.)
- Coordinates workshops to facilitate process changes in compliance to audit findings
