Position Description: We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about coding and developing scalable and high-performance applications. You will work closely with our front-end developers designers and other members of the team to deliver quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Technical Leadership & Architecture:
o Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g. Databricks Snowflake BigQuery Redshift).
o Oversee end-to-end data warehousing projects including re-platforming from legacy on-prem systems to modern cloud architectures.
o Define best practices for data modelling ELT/ETL pipelines and data governance.
Team Management:
o Manage and mentor a team of high performing data engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
o Conduct code reviews architectural design sessions and project planning.
AI & Automation Integration:
o Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate Generative AI and agentic workflows into the data ecosystem.
o Champion the use of automation (e.g. Python-based scripting CI/CD pipelines) to accelerate data delivery and reduce manual toil.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Act as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise clients during implementation and delivery phases.
o Translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and roadmap deliverables.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must-Have Skills:
12 years in Data Engineering or BI with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role

Good-to-Have Skills:
Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark (specifically for data automation and scripting).
o Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud data warehouse (Databricks Snowflake BigQuery or AWS Redshift).
o Expert in at least one legacy data warehouse stack (Informatica DataStage etc.)
o Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques (Star/Snowflake schema Data Vault).
Modernization Expertise: Proven track record of leading data warehouse modernization initiatives or legacy-to-cloud migration projects.

. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.

Preferred Qualifications Good to have

. GenAI/LLM Familiarity: Understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI interact with structured data/SQL (e.g. RAG architectures Text-to-SQL).
. Industry Knowledge: Experience working with clients in data-heavy industries such as BFSI (Banking Financial Services Insurance) or Healthcare.
. Certifications: Cloud certifications (Databricks/AWS/GCP/Azure) or Data Engineering certifications.
