Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef delivering service and food excellence throughout our Food & Beverage outlets at Naumi Hotels Wellington. The successful person will have great passion for food is efficient and methodical and is a collaborative team player.

Naumi Wellington is a unique luxury boutique hotel experience nestled in the heart of Wellingtons vibrant entertainment and dining district with entrances on Cuba St. and Dunlop Terrace.

What youll be doing

  • Assisting the Executive Chef with management of the culinary department payroll rostering menu design purchasing and team development
  • Ensure the kitchen team is familiar with daily requirements and events via team briefings
  • Monitor stock of ingredients and equipment and re-order/replace as and when required
  • Maintain knowledge of current market trends
  • Strictly manage safety and hygiene standards
  • Liaise with Food & Beverage Conference & Events and General Manager to maintain smooth operations
  • Monitor guest feedback and address accordingly
  • Implement and maintain system of quality assurance for all meals which are prepared and served by the kitchen team

Ideally you will

  • Be experienced as a Sous Chef with a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment hotel kitchens preferred
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced in delivering exceptional dishes
  • Asian Cuisine Experience preferred
  • Have clear and effective communication skills
  • Work efficiently methodically and have strong health safety and hygiene standards
  • Be flexible with shifts & working on weekends
  • Bring your own knife set and kitchen safety shoes (well provide the Chef uniform)
