Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Hospitality Intern to join our team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of hospitality management including guest services event planning and operations. The ideal candidate will be a current college student with a passion for hospitality excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards providing exceptional guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Guest Services: Assist in providing excellent customer service to guests by greeting them answering inquiries and addressing concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Event Planning Support: Support the hospitality team in planning and executing events including meetings conferences weddings and other special occasions. Assist with logistics coordination and onsite management.
- Front Desk Operations: Learn and assist with front desk operations including check-in/check-out procedures reservation management and handling guest requests.
- Housekeeping Assistance: Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas. Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
- Food and Beverage Service: Support food and beverage operations by assisting with meal service setting up dining areas and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Sales and Marketing Support: Assist in promoting hospitality services and special offers through various channels including social media email campaigns and promotional materials.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the hospitality department including data entry filing and organizing documents.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management Hotel Administration Tourism or a related field.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the hospitality team.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Virginia Gaming License.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- May be subject to smoking environment and moderate noise.
- Fast paced high volume environment involving constant
- Must be able to stoop reach and bend as necessary.
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to bend crouch kneel twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job.
Duration and Compensation:
This internship position is summer with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. Compensation may be provided based on the organizations policies and budget for internships.
