- This is not an hourly position. The Student Employee will be paid at the end of the semester when the supervisor issues payment.
- This position is paid via a stipend of $100
- If all requirements are met:
- Attend all meetings as required with SGA advisor.
- No meetings should be missed by executive board members unless excused by SGA advisor President or Chief of Staff within 24 hours in advance.
- Executive Board Members must attend all events unless excused by SGA Advisor President or Chief of Staff at least 24 hours in advance.
- There must always be at least two Executive Board members at all SGA Events
Evaluation Period:Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose:
The Class Representative serves as the direct voice of their respective class within the Student Government Association. This position advocates for the needs concerns and ideas of their class while fostering engagement and communication between students and SGA leadership. The Class Representative works to enhance class unity promote participation in campus initiatives and ensure that student perspectives inform decision-making.
The SGA Class Representatives are responsible for:
- Upholding and enforcing the provisions of the Constitution
- Attend all meetings of the Student Government Association
- Represent their class by bringing ideas thoughts and proposals to the SGA General Assembly Meetings
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regular participation in the SGA General Assembly and organization representative meetings.
- Maintain good academic and social standing with the university as defined by the MSJ student handbook;
- Serve/Assist on at least one committee per semester
- Plan/Assist/Execute at least one SGA event per semester
- Accurately represent the thoughts and ideas of their respective class
- Serve as a voting member on finances
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student currently enrolled at Mount St. Joseph University
- Must maintain and uphold a 2.5 GPA per semester
- Must be in good standing with Mount St. Joseph University
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and meet deadlines
- Well organized punctual and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels within the University
