Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) is looking for a full time Head of Psychology and TOK from August 2026 or earlier if available.

The role will initially be based at Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) and may require the candidate to work in another campus in the future).

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have strong curriculum knowledge and a successful track record in teaching TOK and Psychology at post-16 level preferably within the IBDP framework although training will be provided for those with other post-16 experience. A willingness to fully subscribe to our school mission Academic Excellence Breadth of Experience and Character & Community (ABC) is fundamental to our appointment to this post. As the Head of Psychology and TOK you will be an excellent classroom practitioner and also be able to design and implement outstanding curriculums in the subject areas.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Design implement and review the curriculums in alignment with IB standards and guidelines.

• Teacher Support: Provide guidance resources and professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their instructional practices.

• Student Engagement: Facilitate engaging and thought-provoking Psychology and TOK lessons discussions and activities that encourage students to explore and question knowledge.

• Assessment Coordination: Oversee the assessment process for Psychology and TOK including the planning and administration of the TOK essay and exhibition.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote collaboration between TOK and other IB subjects to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives and enhance students understanding.

• Resource Management: Develop and maintain a repository of Psychology and TOK resources including books articles and multimedia materials.

• Compliance: Ensure that the Psychology and TOK courses adhere to IB policies and procedures including academic honesty and ethical guidelines.

• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in Psychology TOK and IB education through continuous professional development and networking.

The successful candidate will receive the necessary IBO accredited training to undertake this role.

The salary range for this position is 451615 - 614586 gross EUR monthly depending on experience. Additionally the candidate will receive a monthly responsibility allowance. All figures shown are including the 9% holiday allowance.
