Description
This position is primarily responsible for processing and analyzing a variety of biological samples obtained from patients under the direction of a general supervisor department supervisor or designated technologist.
Education: Approved course in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited college or other recognized institution preferred. An Associate Degree is required.
Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the State of Tennessee.
Experience/Knowledge: Clinical Laboratory experience is desired but consideration may be given to recent graduates. Candidates with Associates Degree are preferred. Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation. The Medical Laboratory Technician must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients assigned.
