Job Summary
A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services Queens Health Sciences Information Technology (QHS IT) the Technology Implementation Specialist supports faculty departments by analyzing business needs recommending process improvements and implementing software solutions to enhance efficiency. This role ensures optimal use of centrally available and faculty-specific software reducing redundant purchases and maximizing technology investments.
The incumbent will lead committees or working groups to assess software effectiveness and will represent QHS in vendor communications to advocate for faculty needs and resolve issues. They will develop and deliver training materials to promote user self-sufficiency and improve adoption while tracking training outcomes for continuous improvement.
In this role the incumbent will document business requirements design test scenarios and provide advanced user support to support effective implementation all within an environment committed to change management and security protocols.

- Plans designs and develops training content including customized documentation and/or materials.
- Assesses training needs and learning gaps and facilitates meetings and/or conducts surveys to gather training requirements.
- Supports program evaluation utilizing automated tracking and evaluation.
- Develops and maintains knowledge base accessible by users to facilitate self help.
- Tracks and analyzes training program experience and identifies future training needs and/or modifications.
- Analyzes edits documents and translates business and functional requirements.
- Conducts research and addresses information systems changes and business process improvements to meet current and future business requirements.
- Recommends system and business process improvements on complex information system and business process issues.
- Creates multi-level test scenarios.
- Designs processes for data input.
- Provides user support and 3rd level help desk support.
- Ensures updates and changes to any application configurations meet change management and security specifications.
- Administers user access to key systems.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or addition requires trade certification qualification or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Experience with learning management system functionalities and standards is considered an asset.
- Experience in planning and/or managing projects considered an asset.
- Experience in client and/or customer experience functions considered an asset.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
