As a Senior Network Centre Operations Engineer youll play a critical role in delivering a highquality reliable and proactive operations service. You will take ownership of realtime monitoring advanced incident detection escalation leadership and complex troubleshooting across systems and platforms. Youll drive efficient service restoration ensure robust documentation of operational events and actively contribute to improving processes tooling and overall operational maturity.

What youll do

Youll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge including:

  • Monitoring & Observability
    • Leveraging tools such as Grafana Datadog SolarWinds and Nagios to interpret dashboards tune alerts and recognise anomalous patterns or traffic spikes
    • Proactively identifying system health issues through realtime telemetry logs and metric correlations
  • Networking & Platform Operations
    • Applying strong knowledge of TCP/IP DNS HTTP TLS load balancing and CDNs to analyse and resolve platform issues
    • Understanding distributed systems caching layers and message queues to support efficient fault isolation and impact assessment
  • Incident Management Tooling
    • Using Jira for structured incident tracking escalation and resolution workflows
    • Operating oncall platforms such as PagerDuty and maintaining knowledge base/runbook documentation for consistent incident response
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
    • Performing firstpass triage on server health application performance API latency and database connectivity (e.g. SQL reachability connection pooling)
    • Analysing logs metrics and system indicators to narrow down rootcause direction during highpressure incidents
  • Scripting & Automation
    • Using Bash Python or PowerShell for log parsing system checks and troubleshooting tasks
    • Automating repetitive operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Cloud & Container Technologies
    • Working with AWS Azure or GCP fundamentals to support cloudbased operational tasks
    • Understanding Docker Kubernetes and log stacks such as ELK/Opensearch Splunk or Loki/Promtail to enhance troubleshooting capabilities

What youll bring

Youre someone who brings:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to highquality work
  • A relevant tertiary IT qualification and/or advanced industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP CompTIA Network CompTIA A.
  • ITIL v4 qualification or equivalent seniorlevel ITSM certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Operations NOC SRE support or missioncritical Incident Management roles within highavailability or realtime platforms.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience using multiple enterprise monitoring platforms (Datadog Grafana SolarWinds Nagios Zabbix) including alert tuning optimisation and trend analysis.
  • Minimum 3-5 years handson experience using enterprise ITSM tools such as Jira ServiceNow or Freshservice with a proven track record of leading priority incidents (P1/SevA).
  • Leveraging tools such as Grafana Datadog SolarWinds and Nagios to interpret multilayer dashboards correlate metrics and identify earlywarning failure patterns.
  • Prior experience in environments with rapid changes live-system dependencies or peaktraffic events (e.g. sports ecommerce gaming streaming financial trading)

Desirable skills youve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • Cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/Azure) or DevOps tooling certifications are highly advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets including odds calculation betting types and market trends
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions ensuring adherence to legal standards
  • Experience with real-time systems or hightraffic platforms ensuring performance and stability during peak betting or gaming events
  • Ability to analyse and interpret large datasets for operational insights risk identification or performance optimisation
