This position requires the candidate to oversee all district operations. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in educational leadership communicate with the Board of Education on a regular basis and ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.

To lead the school district in all facets of the organization to educational excellence.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
School Board Relationships
Responsible for providing school directors with the information necessary for them to carry out their duties as specified by school code.
- Develop the agenda for all meetings.
- Prepare resource materials for all agenda items.
- Attend all meetings.
- Prepare minutes of all meetings other than regular board meetings.
- Prepare weekly informative letter for directors.
- Investigate and respond to school directors questions.
- Implement all board resolutions policies and directives.
Budgeting and Finance
Responsible for the prudent management of the fiscal resources available to the school district.
- Manage the development of the annual budget.
- Make the final decision on all un-anticipated budget expenditures of less than $1500.00.
- Monitor all financial matters of the school district.
- Prepare reports dealing with the financial status of programs and services.
- Act as liaison with state and federal agencies to maintain financial support for school projects
- Coordinate the administration of the budget with the business manager.
- Responsible for the overall fiscal control of the district.
Communications
- Provide information to the community about the schools.
- Participate with citizens to solve school problems.
- Report to parent groups about district-wide concerns.
- Conduct surveys to assess community attitudes.
- Oversee the publication of The Chalkboard.
Curriculum and Program Management
Responsible for planning organizing and directing the districts curriculum and supplemental programs within the stated philosophy and goals.
- Assure the ongoing evaluation and review in all areas of the districts curriculum.
- Participate in the development of programs for special education students.
Administration and Organization
Responsible for organizing and managing the total school district program in a manner consistent with the districts stated philosophy and goals.
- Develop administrative procedures for all board policies.
- Develop short and long range objectives for the districts programs.
- Identify and prioritize school district needs.
- Prepare reports projections and plans.
- Act as liaison with educational agencies that provide support to the district.
- Provide for the clear definition of all duties and responsibilities of management personnel according to the organizational chart.
- Mediate all conflicts that rise through the organization.
- Delegate responsibility and authority commensurate with the size of the organization.
Support Services Management
Responsible for assuring that all school district services are managed effectively and economically and that each contributes positively to the educational needs of students.
- Assure that all facilities are safe and secure.
- Develop reports and plans for the future use of facilities.
- Assure that the districts transportation system is planned to provide efficient and economical services.
- Monitor the implementation of the student lunch program.
Legal Concerns
Responsible for providing and/or procuring information about the legal ramifications of all school board and district related activities.
- Act as liaison with the school district solicitor.
- Represent the district in all legal matters.
