Job Summary

As an SSD Security Architect you will play a central role in defining evolving and delivering endtoend security architectures for nextgeneration data center SSD products. These technologies will be largely centered around industry standards such as NIST SP 800 series specifications that apply to storage devices DMTF SPDM TCG and others.

Your areas of ownership will include: (1) defining architectural specifications that capture hardware and firmware requirements for new security features (2) Partnering with planning organizations to influence product security roadmaps (3) Monitoring and (when necessary) influencing industry specifications (4) Providing architectural support for security features in development and (5) Collaborating with other Security hardware and software teams to ensure new security features progress through the product development lifecycle. 

This is a highly visible role which will require strong communication skills presenting to senior leaders throughout the organization and synthesizing inputs from a variety of stakeholders to derive implementable security architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own security architecture definition for future SSD products spanning hardware firmware and infrastructure ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Lead and participate in threat modeling risk assessments and security design reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Guide implementation teams to ensure cryptographic solutions and security mechanisms are correctly and consistently realized across platforms.
  • Evaluate current and emerging cryptographic technologies and assess applicability to future products.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders (security hardware firmware validation product planning) to integrate security into overall system designs.
  • Influence and help define the product security roadmap balancing technical feasibility standards evolution and business priorities.
  • Monitor contribute to and when appropriate influence industry standards and specifications (e.g. NIST TCG DMTF).
  • Represent the organization in external technical forums standards bodies and working groups.
  • Provide technical mentorship and architectural leadership helping build a strong culture of security excellence.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Industry experience (typically 5 years) in security architecture cryptography or applied security engineering.
  • Proven background in cryptography and/or applied cryptography
  • Strong understanding of secure system design principles threat modeling and security development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience translating business and customer security requirements into implementable architectural solutions.
  • Familiarity with relevant security and cryptographic standards such as NIST SP800 publications FIPS standards TCG and other related specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical leaders and synthesize input from diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hardware architecture and security design.
  • Prior experience in hardware design is requiredpreferably in security.
  • Exposure to SSD embedded systems or platformlevel security architectures.
  • Experience with formal verification of security hardware components.
  • Experience in evaluation and specification of cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
  • Experience with quantum safe cryptographic algorithms (e.g. FIPS 203 FIPS 205)
  • Experience leading and/or contributing to industry security certification of a product (e.g. FIPS 140 Common Criteria etc.)
  • Prior participation in industry standards organizations or technical working groups.
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant technical field.

Additional Information :

The compensation range for this role is $121280 - $194100 USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills experience qualifications and geographic location. 

 

This is a Hybrid role that can report out of any of the following Solidigm offices: Rancho Cordova California;  Longmont Colorado; or Vancouver BC CAN.
