The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as anOpen Rank ProfessorandAssistant Director of Academic Affairs. This dual-role position is designed to support the academic mission of the College while contributing to the education and training of future dental professionals. The successful candidate will split their responsibilities equally betweenacademic affairs (50%)andteaching (50%) with a focus on pre-clinical simulation and didactic courses.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS:
TEACHING:
Stay current with advancements in dental education and integrate new techniques into teaching practices.
EDUCATION:Dental Degree (DDS DMD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE:Three (3) years of teaching experience in a dental school setting. Experience in curriculum development including design implementation and assessment.
DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:
Familiarity with accreditation standards for dental education programs.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty staff and students.
Expertise in pre-clinical simulation techniques and technologies.
Ability to design engaging didactic course content.
Strong organizational skills for managing academic affairs responsibilities effectively.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with students faculty and external stakeholders.
