As a Principal at Parker Woods Montessori you are leading a school that serves approximately 620 students ranging from ages 3 to 12. This role requires a unique blend of urban school leadership and a deep commitment to the Montessori whole child approach.
Qualifications
Elementary principals certificate valid for the State of Ohio. Those applicants completing all coursework for the principals license by July 1 2026 must submit a letter of verification from the program advisor in lieu of the license.
Masters degree or beyond with a concentration in educational administration.
Previous experience inaMontessorisetting or the commitment to obtain Montessori training within two years.
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of three years as a successful teacher or in a teaching-related position and two years in an administrative or supervisory position
Montessori Philosophical Leadership

- Align school resources (Title I General Funds and Partnerships) to directly support classroom interventions and student-centered initiatives.
- Interpret and communicate goals of Cincinnati Public Schools to the students staff and community to ensure district-wide alignment.
- Foster a safe and family-friendly environment that encourages involvement by all parents in the strategic education process.
- Collaborate effectively with regular education teachers and intervention specialists to ensure the Montessori model is inclusive of all learners.
Community & CPS Specific Responsibilities
Parker Woods operates as a neighborhood anchor through its CLC model:
- LSDMC & ILT Oversight: Functioning as the primary advisor to the Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC) on budget and policy and leading the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) to set and monitor school-wide goals.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborating with the on-site Resource Coordinator to align community partnerships and services with the specific academic and social needs of the student body.
- Inclusive Leadership: Actively working to serve a diverse urban population focusing on sensitivity to various socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Daily Operations
- Staff Supervision & Evaluation: Monitoring classroom instruction and providing actionable feedback to ensure staff are meeting the benchmarks defined in the schools strategic plan.
- Financial Stewardship: Managing the school budget with a focus on resource optimization ensuring every dollar is directed toward student growth and whole child development.
- Safety & Environment: Maintaining a safe clean and nurturing environment that utilizes advanced technologies to prepare students for the future.
