We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President Direct Custody and Clearing Operations

Role Purpose

To manage and direct the operational teams under Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) Operations namely Clearing and Settlements and FX to ensure maximum operational efficiency and adherence to service standards whilst minimising the risks associated with operations thereby ensuring maximum profitability and attainment of operating and strategic objectives.

Responsible for the ongoing review of operational and regulatory risks inherent in operations and implementation of procedures to close or mitigate these risks. Supports SVP DCC Operations in identifying and developing service improvements. Deputizes for SVP DCC Operations in his/ her absence.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Contribute towards maintaining/increasing the Banks market share through seamless operations
• Leverage on technology platforms (new and existing) to gain efficiencies and ensure operational viability.
• Ensure high quality of service delivery provided to clients
• Develop and nurture a strong relationship with market players and regulators to develop and implement market reforms
• Coach and develop a highly motivated team through active performance management
• Maintain HSBC control standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
• Manage operational risk including its identification assessment mitigation and control loss identification and reporting
• Compliance to internal and external policies and regulations
• Ensure sustainability of Business Continuity Plan

Qualifications:

Previous Securities Services experience is an advantage (e.g. Operations Settlements Asset Services/Corporate Actions Investment Licensing/Registration Client Services).

General banking operations (e.g. foreign exchange remittances taxation) or financial accounting or business analyst background knowledge of stock market activities equities fixed income instruments and other securities.

Familiarity with regulators (Philippines Stock Exchange Philippine Depository and Trust Corporation Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Bureau of Internal Revenue Securities and Exchange Commission) and regulations.

Able to lead people and connect at all levels of the organization.

Able to build relationships and influence others both internal and external stakeholders.

Must possess effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to think and work effectively under challenging situations with strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed and timely decisions.

Must have strong sense of ownership responsibility accountability and teamwork.
