About the Role
As an English Teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge students foster a love of literature and language and prepare them for examination success.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching English across Key Stages 35 including GCSE and A-Level
Planning and delivering structured engaging lessons that develop students reading writing and analytical skills
Assessing student progress and providing timely constructive feedback
Differentiating lessons to support students of varying abilities and needs
Supporting curriculum development and contributing to departmental initiatives
Leading extra-curricular activities such as debating reading clubs or literary competitions
Maintaining a positive inclusive and disciplined classroom environment
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
Hold a degree in English Literature or a closely related subject
Possess QTS or PGCE
Have experience teaching English in a secondary school setting ideally including GCSE and A-Level
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be passionate about inspiring students and promoting high standards of literacy
