Job Summary
Join our US Product Development team where we build innovative retail systems for Sportsbooks and hotel check-in kiosks across the US. As a Solutions Architect you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable secure and high-performing solutions that meet business and technical needs. You will work closely with engineering teams product stakeholders and leadership to translate complex requirements into robust architectural designs. Your expertise will guide the adoption of best practices and ensure alignment with the companys strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Develop comprehensive architectural solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements
- Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation including system design diagrams and data flow models
- Ensure solutions are scalable secure and meet performance and reliability standards
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies frameworks and tools to enhance system capabilities
Support efforts to modernise legacy systems or address technical debt where needed
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Tech Leads and engineering teams to guide implementation and resolve technical challenges
- Provide hands-on support during critical phases of project delivery to ensure alignment with architectural standards
- Partner with product design and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Engage with other Solutions Architects to maintain architectural standards and drive consistency and efficiency across the organisation in partnership with the Director of Architecture
Risk Management & Operations
- Identify risks dependencies and technical bottlenecks proposing mitigation strategies as needed
- Monitor the growth and scale of underlying services and platforms engaging with DevOps to maintain them via an agreed upon archiving and backup procedure
- Participate in production support and contribute to operational excellence
Qualifications
- 7 years of software engineering experience with strong architectural background
- Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable distributed systems
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture event-driven systems and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Java Spring Framework and modern backend technologies
- Strong knowledge of system integration patterns API design and data architecture
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across multiple teams
Technical Skills
- Expertise in architectural patterns and best practices
- Strong understanding of security performance and reliability principles
- Experience with containerisation (Docker Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka RabbitMQ) and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and DevOps practices
