Job Summary

Looking to make a difference in the lives of pets and people With an almost year-round beautiful blue sky and a scenic mountain backdrop HSPPR is a nonprofit animal shelter serving El Paso Pueblo and Douglas Counties as well as the City of Centennial in the colorful State of Colorado. At the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) we believe in compassionate care for animals safe and vibrant communities and socially conscious sheltering. As an Adoptions Specialist youll be a key part of that vision-helping pets find loving homes while supporting the people who care for them.

What Youll Do

As an Adoptions Specialist youll bring our mission to life every day by:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and adoption guidance to ensure each pet finds their perfect match.

  • Training and mentoring Adoptions Representatives helping new team members understand both our procedures and our values.

  • Offering leadership on the adoption floor to keep operations smooth compassionate and efficient.

  • Handling challenges thoughtfully-always with empathy for people and animals alike.

  • Collaborating with coworkers and volunteers to maintain a welcoming safe and organized adoption environment.

About You

Youre motivated by making a difference and thrive in a fast-paced mission-driven environment. You bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework is a plus).

  • Six months or more of customer service experience; animal care experience a plus.

  • Excellent communication problem-solving and teaching skills.

  • A calm professional attitude under pressure.

  • A valid Colorado drivers license (preferred).

Working Conditions

Our adoption floor is dynamic-full of life teamwork and the occasional wagging tail or gentle purr. Youll need to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally multitask around frequent interruptions and work weekends and holidays.
