MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
INSTRUCTION
1. Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College loading policy course objectives and program learning outcomes for Healthcare Specialist CNA and QMA courses.
2. Develop maintain and update curriculum standardized course shells and supporting instructional materials in alignment with statewide curriculum and institutional quality standards.
3. Maintain student records attendance grades and required academic documentation in compliance with College policy and regulatory requirements.
4. Manage classroom laboratory and simulated clinical environments conducive to student learning and compliant with federal state and College safety standards.
5. Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes through effective instruction competency validation assessment and feedback.
6. Utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas/IvyLearn) to support instruction assessment communication and course consistency.
RETENTION AND STUDENT SUCCESS
1. Provide academic-related coaching and ongoing academic monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with professional academic advising staff.
2. Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester including use of technology-based academic advising alerts; implement appropriate interventions such as direct communication with students tutoring and academic support referrals and connection to relevant college resources.
3. Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with regional expectations and the faculty loading policy outlined in the Academic Support and Operations Manual (ASOM 7.2).
4. Promote and support student recruitment retention and successful program completion through proactive outreach including phone calls electronic communication and use of institutional technology tools.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
1. Participate in professional development activities which may include scheduled training time spent onsite in related business and industry settings and self-directed study to advance instructional and technical skills and maintain current knowledge within the field of study.
2. Engage in scholarly activities related to the discipline or area of focus in fulfillment of annual performance plans and as required for certification and licensure.
3. Remain current in contemporary pedagogy digital tools and instructional technologies that best support effective teaching and student learning.
4. Remain current in healthcare practices long-term care regulations CNA/QMA standards and contemporary instructional methodologies.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND BUSINESS OUTREACH
1. Participate in community service activities on behalf of the College to advance and strengthen relationships within the Colleges service area as appropriate for the department division and school.
2. Develop and maintain community industry and business partnerships to support and advance the Colleges relationships within the service area in alignment with departmental and school priorities.
3. Support the implementation of the Colleges Strategic Plan by fostering external partnerships that align academic programs with workforce needs advance employer collaboration and contribute to student success and economic development in the region.
4. Promote Healthcare Specialist and CNA/QMA programs within the service area.
INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
1. Provide institutional support as requested by College administration including participation on committees and task forces projects related to College and program accreditation and grant-funded initiatives.
2. Support and engage with Corporate College and Development initiatives including collaboration with the Ivy Tech Foundation to advance workforce development philanthropy and program sustainability.
3. Attend commencement and participate in official College events and activities as assigned by campus administration.
4. Participate in College-wide campus departmental divisional and faculty meetings in support of shared governance and operational effectiveness.
5. Participate in career services employer engagement and alumni activities that support student placement workforce alignment and long-term program success.
6. Adhere to College and campus academic policies procedures and governance requirements.
7. Support and advance the Ivy Tech Strategic Plan by contributing to initiatives that promote student success workforce and employer partnerships operational excellence and community impact in alignment with institutional priorities.
ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
1. Review analyze and utilize program-level data related to enrollment retention progression completion and student outcomes. Identify trends and equity gaps develop data-informed action plans and lead continuous improvement strategies designed to positively impact student retention and program completion.
2. Support and expand student internships clinical placements and other real-world experiential learning opportunities that align with curriculum requirements and workforce expectations. Collaborate with employers Corporate College and community partners to ensure experiences are structured supervised and supportive of student skill development and employability.
3. Ensure the quality consistency and compliance of discipline-specific dual credit courses offered through local high schools by collaborating with secondary partners reviewing instructor credentials monitoring course delivery and utilizing for alignment documentation and compliance. Fulfill responsibilities as outlined in ASOM 4.3 Credit Transfer Awarding/Dual Credit.
4. Develop and manage course schedules that support student access progression and learning while balancing faculty workload Corporate College needs and efficient utilization of classrooms and laboratories. Align scheduling with program demand equipment availability and operational capacity.
5. Provide leadership oversight and supervision of Program Chairs for limited-enrollment programs including guidance on academic quality compliance with accreditation standards faculty support scheduling student progression and continuous program improvement.
6. Advance the Ivy Tech Strategic Plan by aligning program operations scheduling partnerships and student success initiatives with institutional priorities related to student completion workforce alignment operational efficiency and community impact.
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
1. Serve as the Program Director for the CNA/QMA programs providing administrative academic and operational leadership to ensure program quality regulatory and accreditation compliance effective faculty supervision and student success.
2. Engage as appropriate with internal and external stakeholdersincluding employers economic sector experts deans vice presidents and statewide curriculum committeesto ensure alignment of quality relevant and market-driven curriculum.
3. Oversee instructional equipment supplies and laboratory resources including identifying needs coordinating purchases and ensuring appropriate maintenance and compliance with program and accreditation requirements.
4. Utilize the Workday system to manage procurement processes including requisitions purchase orders vendor coordination and tracking of instructional and operational expenditures.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
1. Review address and respond to faculty staff and student issues in a timely and professional manner including concerns related to instruction performance conduct and student success and coordinate resolution in accordance with College policies and procedures.

SALARY: This position is on an academic year contract. Summer contracts could be available depending on enrollment. The minimum 9-month salary for this position at an F-2 rank is $50000. Rank and salary will be determined based on education and experience.
