Accountancy Officer Internal Only

Barnet is seeking an Accountancy Officer who will be responsible for the administration of financial processes and support systems; maintaining accounting and other records and ultimately ensuring that the service runs smoothly.
In support of Sanctuary managers this role is integral to enabling transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
Through the pursuit of some of your duties you may be required to deal directly with our Sanctuary Seekers Commissioned Partners Government Bodies which include MHCLG and Home Office rendering you an ambassador not only for the service but for the Council as a whole.
The AccountancyOfficer will play a key role in developing and delivering projects within the Sanctuary Team. They will work closely with project managers stakeholders and partners to facilitate the resettlement and support of Sanctuary Seekers in the community.
They will developing and delivering projects within the Borough of Sanctuary working with outreach services and reviewing and improving team processes.
About you
- Experience in projects administration or coordination preferably in a humanitarian or refugee assistance context.
- Experience in producing reports from Integra and other peripheral systems to support in-year monitoring year-end and statutory reporting
Experience in maintaining corporate registers to support year-end statutory closures
.
Able to undertake general finance and administration tasks including maintaining shared folders intranet pages filing bank statements raising PO and manual payments
- Familiarity with humanitarian principles refugee resettlement processes and the challenges faced by sanctuary seekers
- Knowledge of data management systems and financial reporting tools Delta and Oracle
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
- Cultural sensitivity and empathy towards the experiences and needs of all sanctuary seekers
