Position Summary:
- Supplying materials required for laboratory exercises
- Procuring preparing pretesting and labeling specimens reagents and slides
- Assisting the continuing education department with lab set-up and requirements
- Participating in biological and chemical safety by providing spill response & following Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) procedures and regulations
- Perform phlebotomy as required
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Additional duties as required
Qualifications :
- 3 years of related experience and certification with the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and/or College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) roster registration required
- Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) preferred
- Sound problem solving and organizational skills
- Experience in Chemistry Microbiology Genetics or Research preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency; specifically Word Excel and Outlook
- Familiarity with lab analyzers (ACLAcT5 AU Virtos Spectrophotometer Vitek will be an asset)
