Job Summary

Job Title: Site Manager (Hands-On / Working Foreman)

Placrs client is currently looking to appoint a hands-on tool-led Site Manager to support the delivery of small architect-led residential projects.

This is not a traditional management-only role. The successful candidate will be expected to actively work on the tools while organising and leading site operations. The position is ideally suited to an experienced builder lead carpenter or working foreman who is used to running smaller residential projects while remaining directly involved in the build.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and organise day-to-day site operations on small residential builds
Actively work on the tools alongside the team
Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site
Maintain programme timelines and ensure projects remain on track
Uphold high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Problem-solve in real time and make practical buildable decisions
Ensure health & safety compliance on site
Liaise with architects clients and suppliers as required
Maintain strong site culture and professional standards

Candidate Profile:

Strong background in general building or carpentry
Proven experience running small residential projects
Comfortable leading a team while remaining hands-on
Trade-qualified or time-served builder preferred
Own tools and typically operates with own van
Strong practical knowledge of residential construction
Able to command respect on site through practical experience
Organised reliable and solutions-focused
