Job Title: Snowflake Platform Engineer

Job Description:
As a Snowflake Platform Engineer you will be the backbone of our cloud data infrastructure. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our Snowflake environment (75% focus) while supporting and integrating our Databricks ecosystem (25% focus). This role requires a blend of infrastructure management performance tuning and data engineering to ensure our platforms are scalable secure and cost-efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Management: Design build and oversee the Snowflake data platform architecture. Implement best practices for clustering multi-clustering and virtual warehouse management.
- Engineering Excellence: Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Snowflake (75%) and Databricks (25%).
- Optimization: Conduct deep-dive performance tuning. Monitor credit consumption and implement automated scaling policies to maximize ROI.
- Security & Governance: Manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) Network Policies and Data Masking to ensure enterprise-grade security.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Science and Analytics teams to provide a high-availability environment for complex modeling and reporting.
Required Technical Skills
- Snowflake Mastery: Deep expertise in SnowSQL Snowpipe Time Travel Zero-copy Cloning and Tasks/Streams.
- Databricks Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Apache Spark PySpark Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
- Advanced SQL: Expert-level ability to write debug and optimize complex queries.
- Data Orchestration: Experience building and monitoring ETL/ELT workflows in a cloud-native environment.
- Cloud Fundamentals: Strong understanding of storage and compute layers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Data Engineering or Platform Engineering.
- Proven track record of managing enterprise-scale Snowflake implementations.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
- SnowPro Core or Advanced Certification is a significant plus
