Overview

The Epic Clinical Analyst I - RN is responsible for assisting with the implementation configuration and support of Epic applications in Inpatient Ambulatory Procedural and Ancillary areas. This role is designed for nurses transitioning into health IT leveraging their clinical expertise to support Epic workflows troubleshooting and end-user training under guidance from senior analysts. The analyst will work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure system configurations align with best practices while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Location: Springfield IL

Shift: Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Background: Registered Nurse (RN) with an active and unrestricted license.
A bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Health Informatics Information Systems or a related field is desired.

Epic Certification:
Epic system training and certification are required and must align with assigned application responsibilities. Specific certification requirements and timelines including allowances of up to one (1) year for new hires will be documented in a position-specific addendum.
One plus years of experience in a clinical nursing role.
Basic understanding of Epic system workflows and healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assists with configuration build and maintain Epic clinical applications to align with patient care and operational needs.
2. Assisst with system testing troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to optimize workflows.
3. Bridges the gap between clinical users and IT teams ensuring Epic configurations meet real-world clinical requirements.
4. Ensures seamless integration of Epic applications with clinical workflows to enhance patient safety and efficiency.
5. Provides hands-on training and support to clinicians nurses and other end users.
6. Assists in the development of user-friendly training materials job aids and workflows tailored to clinical roles.
7. Assists with interactive system demonstrations and training sessions to enhance adoption and proficiency.
8. Serves as an Epic super user and go-to resource for clinical teams.
9. Partners with physicians nurses and operational leaders to assess system needs and enhancements.
10. Collaborates with IT project managers and leadership to ensure successful Epic system implementations.
11. Participates in clinical advisory groups steering committees and governance meetings to advocate for system improvements.
12. Monitors Epic system performance and ensure compliance with clinical and organizational standards.
13. Participates in system upgrades testing validation and change management processes.
14. Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance system functionality based on clinical feedback.
15. Works under supervision to ensure Epic configurations align with healthcare regulations including HIPAA Joint Commission CMS and Meaningful Use requirements.
16. Assists in generating reports dashboards and data insights to improve patient care and compliance.
17. Supports initiatives related to clinical quality measures patient safety and performance improvement.
18. Contributes to Epic-related projects ensuring timely and effective implementation.
19. Identifies and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency patient outcomes and clinician satisfaction.
20. Collaborates on change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new system features and upgrades.
21. Epic Certification Addendum Acknowledgment
All colleagues in Epic-designated roles are required to review acknowledge and sign the applicable Epic Certification Addendum as a condition of employment and continued assignment in an Epic role.
