Senior Systems Analyst (Systems Analyst V)

Project Overview

The Senior Systems Analyst works closely with Product Managers Product Owners engineering teams and business stakeholders to support the delivery of data-driven applications and enterprise data products.

This role focuses on analyzing complex data requirements defining functional specifications and supporting the full lifecycle of enterprise data platforms. The work involves financial services and mortgage-related data ensuring high-quality and reliable data solutions.

The position is based onsite at the clients Reston Town Center location operating under a hybrid schedule. Remote candidates are not considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units and subject matter experts to identify analyze and refine business and technical requirements for data-driven applications and products.
• Document detailed functional requirements and data mappings including attribute-level source-to-target mappings transformations and derivations.
• Conduct end-to-end data analysis across the product lifecycle to ensure accurate and trusted data delivery.
• Perform activities such as:
  • Data gathering profiling and aggregation
  • Requirements creation and refinement
  • Data structure and modeling recommendations
  • Metadata standardization and dataset registration
  • Source-to-target mapping and transformation design
  • Impact analysis and dependency assessments
  • Data validation and reconciliation
• Maintain and review requirements design documentation and testing artifacts to ensure alignment across business product and technology teams.
• Support testing activities including preparing test plans participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and evaluating results alongside development and QA teams.
• Work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to support backlog refinement product roadmaps and release planning.
• Lead analysis activities for smaller initiatives or manage major workstreams within large complex projects.
• Provide business domain expertise data insights and technical guidance to stakeholders and application owners throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology Data Science Statistics Economics Computer Science or a related field.
• 8 10 years of experience in systems analysis data analysis or product-aligned delivery roles.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms within financial services environments.
• Mortgage industry experience strongly preferred.

Technical & Soft Skills

Technical Skills

• Advanced data analysis experience across the full product or application lifecycle.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience developing dashboards or analytics solutions using Tableau.
• Python development experience is considered a plus.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Product Owner experience is preferred.
