The Opportunity:

As the Associate Director of Athletics for Facility Operations you provide strategic leadership oversight and hands-on support for all athletic facility operations at Washington State this role you play an essential part in advancing the departments mission by managing facility improvement projects and ensuring the effective operation of all athletic facilities.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Athletics you serve as the primary liaison with university facilities teams and external contractors or vendors and you play a critical role in creating a safe compliant and engaging environment that supports the success of student-athletes and enhances the overall university experience.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.


Monthly Salary: $6250 - $7500 Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in sports administration administrative business liberal arts social sciences or related discipline plus four (4) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit including one (1) year of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations.

  • Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance withSPPM7.10and departmental driving standards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Experience in facility maintenance and facility improvements.

  • Experience in working with budgets.

  • Demonstrated current knowledge ofNCAAprocedures and regulations.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to function professionally under high stress confrontational circumstances.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear information on an impromptu basis to individuals or groups of people.

  • Demonstrated skills in adaptability.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve consider alternatives and provide flexibility.

  • Ability to obtain First Aid andCPRcertification.
