We are looking to recruit anIndependenceSenior Associateto joinourIndependence Teamas part of thePwC IrelandRisk & Quality function.

The PwC Ireland Independence Team is part of the firms Risk & Quality group withinBusiness Enablement Solutions(BES)that provides critical business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment. Itis responsible forworking with the practice across all Lines of Services to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory responsibilities as required under PwC Global Independence policy US SEC rules EU rules local Irish rules and other territories rules.

Responsibilities:

AsaSeniorAssociateyoullwork as part of a team of problem solvers helping to solve complex business issues from strategy toexecution.Youllfocus on promoting and monitoring compliance with the applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwCs regulatory litigation and reputational risk.

In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for:

  • Participation in the various Independence support systemsprocessesand activities

  • Overseeing / liaising with Acceleration Centres on certain Independence Assessment activities to manage quality completeness andtimelydelivery of Assessments

  • ProvidingIndependence adviceto partnersstaff and engagement teams across the firmand network firms

  • Handlingconsultationsand performing analysison Independence mattersincludingthepermissibility ofcertainnon-assurance services financial and/orbusiness relationships

  • Developing or updating guidance on Independence related matters

  • Developing or updating Independence training material and delivery of Independence training

  • Developing communication material on Independence such as Independence bulletins

  • Delivery of ad hoc Independence projects

  • Performing reviews of partnerstaffand engagement team compliance with Independence policy

  • Participation in firm and network quality assurance activities

  • Coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues to promote knowledge sharing

  • Involvement with the continued innovation and development of Independence processes and PwC Global initiatives

Experiences and skills:

  • Minimum5 years experiencein professional servicesin auditriskor compliance type role

  • Existingindependence knowledge including external independence regulations and requirements(e.g.SECIESBAIAASAor UK FRCEthical Standard) would bepreferrablebutnotas you will be provided with the necessary training and support

  • Strong businessacumenand understanding of various entity structures

  • Applying policy/ regulatory requirements and guidance to assess permissibility ofrelationshipsfor independence purposesleveragingproblem solvingknow-how and developing and offering conclusions

  • Exhibitingstrongoral and written business communication skillsleveragedto probe for information and communicate with impact and empathy

  • Strong client service focus in dealing with partners and staff at all levels and areas of the firm

  • Demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to collect analyseconnectand structure the information received while consistently applying professionalskepticismto evaluate and verify information thoroughly

  • Ability to work in a multitasked fast-paced and changing environment and work independently with various stakeholders and adapt to organisational changes

  • Strong people and project management skills monitoringteamlevelworkloadin different areas ensuringmeeting deadlines consistently
