AEP Cambridge North is a Canadian-owned and operated metal manufacturing company specializing in prototyping and custom projects. At AEP Cambridge North we use the latest in cutting-edge technology to provide clients with machining fabricating welding and design business since 1991 we run medium to small production projects in our air-conditioned facility that is conveniently located in Cambridge.

Compensation Range: up to $42.00 hourly

The CWB Welding & Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the welding and fabrication team. This role ensures all work is completed safely efficiently and in full compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise coordinate and support the welding and fabrication team to meet production schedules quality standards and established cycle times
  • Monitor and drive cycle time adherence ensuring work is completed within defined production timelines while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Identify process improvements to optimize workflow reduce bottlenecks and improve overall efficiency
  • Ensure all welding and fabrication activities comply with Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) standards and requirements
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to applicable welding procedures specifications and quality control processes
  • Ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with required standards
  • Hold and maintain CWB Level 2 Welding Inspection Certification ensuring all inspection requirements under this certification are properly followed
  • Provide technical guidance training and performance oversight to team members
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the department
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Operations teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement

Educational Requirements:

  • High school Diploma
  • CWB Level 2 Welding Inspection Certification

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in manufacturing preferably in a fabrication environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Flexible service-oriented and hands-on management professional who can successfully direct motivate and train staff.
  • Strong interpersonal communication coaching mentoring and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make critical decisions to accomplish production goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Follow and reinforce policies and procedures put in place for employee safety.
  • Do not cut corners and take risks.
  • Provide training and information to employees on the hazards of tasks and ensure that precautions are taken.
  • Report and act on any unsafe conditions and potential hazards that may be presented by employees or are seen while working
  • Wear maintain and enforce proper PPE that is requested by the employer.
