Contract: 190 Days

Must have valid SC Teacher Certificate/ License or be eligible for Certificate/License

Position is open until filled.

BarnwellCounty School District is seeking a certified Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants need certification in either 49/49 Advanced Fine Arts (Art); or 50/50 Art. Certification in AX Graphic Communications and BN Digital Artand Design is preferred. Applicants should have strengths in Digital Arts and/or Graphic Design.

Description:

Secondary Art Teacher candidates must be able to perform the following:

• Plan prepare and create lesson plans that are reflective of established curriculum and state standards.
• Provide quality instruction based on established curriculum and state standards.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Display a commitment to learning for all students.
• Possess a strong background in Graphic Art.
• Ability to implement differentiated instruction and/or instructional strategies that are reflective of best practices.
• Create a positive educational climate for students.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions and professional development as required.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date gradebook via PowerSchool throughout the school year.
• Observe and evaluate student performance.
• Collaborate in grade level and department teams to discuss student work share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards.
• Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
• Prepare and distribute required reports.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
• establish appropriate ongoing communications with parents and guardians in order to report student performance and progress.
• Develop and expand student knowledge of the processes techniques and applications used in the creation ofdigital& graphic design artwork.
• Ensure students createdigitalartwork that demonstrates an understanding and command of the principles of artistic design.
• Ensure students know how to access analyze interpret and create graphic pieces.
• Ensure that students know how to make connections between thedigitalarts and other arts disciplines other content areas and the world.
• Ensure that students understand the context and history of the development of thedigitalarts & graphic design.
• Ensure that students can demonstrate a knowledge of digital citizenship and a sense of responsibility in thedigitalarts & graphic design.
• Strong technical background and technical instruction experience preferred.
