Internship Concept Design Illustration (Fall 2026)

JOB SUMMARY: The Concept Design Intern will assist the Art Direction team in creating 2D sketches storyboards POV color illustrations; and if able key art birdseyes and marketing art to support the Creative Studio project design needs. They will also be creating 3D models to be used as a basis for drawing over to expedite the illustration process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates independent sketching and illustrating work on a Cintiq while being guided and mentored by the Art Director or a senior level Concept Designer.
• Creates assets to support several projects as well as the overall concept design team as a whole.
• Attends regular project-related meetings as needed to understand larger project parameters with the overall concept design team.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and Team Member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
• A transcript is required upon application.
• Preferred majors include: Fine Art Illustration Entertainment Desing Product Design Environment Design Experience and Production Design or similar.

Preferred coursework completed: Drawing and 2D illustration Color illustration Photoshop 3D block-out and Rendering

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator).
• Experience with a 3D modeling software like SketchUp Revit 3DSMax or Maya.
• Knowledge of general architecture and guest accessible features is a bonus.

• This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
• Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.
• Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
